East Renfrewshire Carers

We provide a range of practical and emotional support to carers. Carers are often themselves affected by being a carer and often have poor health, financial problems or are socially isolated. We provide a mixture of individual and group support to ensure that carers are able to maintain their caring role while maintaining a life of their own. We also provide a young carers service for children age 8 plus”

Reason for applying to DiH

Our website and use of social media has been fairly limited and reactive but we know the importance and benefits a good website and related services can bring, It is unlikely that we will ever have resources to dedicate to this.

Outcome

The support from the Graphics Co-op and VHS was excellent from the outset. An initial meeting allowed everyone to share their thoughts and give us all a clear way forward.

The design and layout of the new website has improved both the look and ease of navigation through the site.

The training on wordpress provided by Laura from Graphics Co-op was straightforward and we are slowly rolling this out across our whole team. Across the whole project the support and advice from VHS and the Graphics Co-op in particular made the project easy to be part of and a really worthwhile exercise.

Whereas previously our website was an after-thought it is now included as major asset in our workplan for 2015.

Braveheart

Braveheart benefited greatly from the process of developing the style and content for the website and we are very happy with the end result. The new website has already helped us to secure new funding, keep our membership and volunteers informed and generated wider interest in what we do. Thank you for this programme, I strongly recommend it to others.

Safe Space

We are delighted with the new website, we received excellent feedback from our funders, users volunteers and staff. as a small charity we didn't have the funds for a new website. This has been a fantastic opportunity. both the graphics coop and Lesley at VHS have been extremely supportive and the guidance first class.

Kingsway Court Health & Wellbeing Centre

We are delighted with the end product and really enjoyed the experience of working with VHS and Graphics Co-op. It's early days yet but we hope (and already beginning to feel) our new site enables us to engage more effectively in the new world of social media and information sharing.
