North Glasgow Community Food Initiative

North Glasgow Community Food Initiative (NGCFI) works in partnership with people, disadvantaged communities and organisations, to increase engagement in practical and sustainable food related activity that inspires health and well-being and celebrate the diverse nature of communities in North Glasgow. We actively promote healthy eating and wellbeing through a range of activities including fresh fruit and vegetable sales, cookery skills classes, run three gardens for learning how to grow fruit and veg plus a variety of volunteering opportunities across all areas of the organisation in order to encourage health improvement, racial and cultural harmony among all residents in North Glasgow.
Accordingly, we help address issues of ill health and health inequalities.

Reason for applying to DiH

We are a forward looking innovative charity operating in some of the most deprived communities in Scotland. We want to engage our communities use our web site as a tool to host video clips and to support online enquiries for our services. Our current web site is rather dated. We do not have funding to do this work ourselves.

Braveheart

Braveheart benefited greatly from the process of developing the style and content for the website and we are very happy with the end result. The new website has already helped us to secure new funding, keep our membership and volunteers informed and generated wider interest in what we do. Thank you for this programme, I strongly recommend it to others.

The website is a great, easy to browse tool for the Forum and its projects. The ease of changing and adding information is a great advantage especially with the back up of the Graphics Coop team being very supportive

Safe Space

We are delighted with the new website, we received excellent feedback from our funders, users volunteers and staff. as a small charity we didn't have the funds for a new website. This has been a fantastic opportunity. both the graphics coop and Lesley at VHS have been extremely supportive and the guidance first class.

Kingsway Court Health & Wellbeing Centre

We are delighted with the end product and really enjoyed the experience of working with VHS and Graphics Co-op. It's early days yet but we hope (and already beginning to feel) our new site enables us to engage more effectively in the new world of social media and information sharing.
